Designing and creating your own line of Christmas cards is an enjoyable way to give a little more of yourself than the manufactured snowman or stocking. It's also an opportunity to get creative. 

Painting your own Christmas cards can also save you money. It's easy and economical and if you have kids this is the perfect activity to do with them while they are on their breaks from school. If you aren't a very good painter or if your kids are working with you Christmas themed stencils are a great idea to use on your painted Christmas cards. You can choose to draw the stencil image onto the card or simply paint over it while it is on the watercolour paper. 

I buy blank cards with a cut out in the front, I paint the picture then stick it on the inside of the cut out. I then fix a Merry or Happy Christmas sticker on the front as you can see in the examples below. Happy Painting!!
