An original watercolour greeting card sent from one friend to another is a joy because it was done by hand by someone who cares and expresses friendship. Artistic ability is not required to make a watercolour card---many people make watercolour cards that are simply a blend of colours, strokes and impressions, others trace part of a picture on to the paper and create their own picture that way.

It's the thought that counts. On the other hand, the original work of art may be sincerely admired, framed and hung on a wall and last for many years to come.

The first two cards illustrated below are in fact cut from one picture I painted in watercolour many months ago, note the flowing similarity between the two. The two boat scenes shown below are in fact the same picture in reverse and I've used different colours. So have a go and Enjoy!!
